It is a par 66 lay-out built in 1927 by the French which winds through ancient Eucalyptus, pines, cypress, palms and olives which provide shade in summer and color in the autumn and winter seasons. Some holes are surrounded by gardens in which orange, mandarin and lemon trees are growing. After lunch, departure for the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Carthage to discover remainders of the splendors of Tunisia's past. Visit the Punic Ports, the Antonin Baths and the amphitheatre. Departure for the Moorish village of Sidi Bou Saïd with its immaculate white and blue houses. Enjoy the superb view of the gulf of Tunis from one of Sidi Bou’s traditional café. Overnight at les Cotes de Carthage. Day 3 : Tabarka Departure to the coastal city of Tabarka. The Tabarka Golf has often been compared to Pebble Beach in California: it was superbly designed by Ronald Fream and you just have to play here to admire the location: set amongst pine and oak forests you have views of the azure blue sea and no less than seven of the holes run along the coast. This 18 hole Par 72 championship course offers a real challenge and is a delight to play on. After lunch, departure to Bulla Regia, Visit the ruins at Bulla Regia, the only city of the Roman Empire 's golden age which still preserves its underground villas intact. Visit the different temples dedicated to Roman divinities, the villas decorated with mosaics, the imposing ruins of the Thermae, the temples, the theatre and the amazing two level dwellings. Overnight in Tabarka. Day 4 : Hammamet Departure to the Cap Bon Peninsula towards Hammamet famous for its kilometers of beaches and its gardens where jasmine and orange trees grow. Overnight in Hammamet. Day 5 : Hammamet Departure to the Yasmine Hammamet Golf course. Designed around six lakes in 300 acres of olive groves and forests, its two 18 hole championship courses and 450 meters practice ground make it a sought after location for international competitions. Right in the middle of the course stands the clubhouse with its pro shop, bar and restaurant and sunny terraces, an ideal place to relax after taking on the course, which is narrow, hilly and has some testing carries. The greens are leveled and have very nice putting surfaces. You can enjoy playing this course day after day. And once you think you can manage, come back on a windy day: this valley is very open to the wind and your best tee-shots may travel only half the distance you're used to. On such a day, forget about your total score and have fun. It's like playing with yet another dimension. Overnight in Hammamet. Day 6: Port El Kantaoui Built in 1979 on a 250 acre site on the side of a hill, the El Kantaoui course, again designed by Fream, dominates the resort. It's intended for golfers of all standards as well as for tournaments and international competitions and that's reflected in the fairly wide fairways. Recently extended to 36 holes, the two courses are known as the Panorama and Sea Course providing great views and challenging holes alongside the beach. in the afternoon, departs for the city of El Jem and visit its spectacular amphiteatre, the second largest in the world only to Rome's and which dates from 238AD. Overnight in Sousse. Day 7: Port El Kantaoui Departure the Flamingo course at Monastir. There is certainly something about teeing off watched by a bunch of camels shading under a palm tree. Monastir has a magnificent setting on a plateau shaded by ancient olive trees, and the course runs down hills and through valleys. Overlooking the sea and salt flats, the fairways straddle ravines, hills and water hazards, with big slopes on the greens. Overnight in Sousse. Day 8: Djerba Departure to Djerba, the mythical land of the Lotus eaters in Homer’s Odyssey, cover up from head to toe for a visit to the Ghriba synagogue, which holds one of the most ancient Torah's in the world. Day 9: Djerba The Djerba golf course if beautiful with all its high palm trees. It is not too difficult to play and is usually the course where you can make your best scores (that always feels good). The condition of the course is excellent after restoration in 2001. Departure for Matmata the star of Tunisia's south. Actually built into the mountain, this fabulous Berber village with its pitted lunar landscapes was used by both Lucas and Spielberg in the production of Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Arc. Quick Glimpse at the Sahara desert for lovers of open space. This is where the movie "the English Patient" was shot. Bus transfer to Djerba airport back to Tunis.
