Day 10: Ksar Ghilane

After breakfast, check out from hotel in Tozeur and 4X4 departure to Ksar Ghilane.

Cross the Salty chott el Djerid where fantastic forests and cities seem to appear on the
horizon, only to be discovered as mirages. Check in La Pansea Camp 4* developed in
harmony with its surrounding environment and local traditions. Silence and vastness
around the camp makes for a magical and unforgettable night.

Enjoy the immensity of the Sahara desert at Ksar Ghilane, Camel riding to the
magnificent red-tinged dunes of Ksar Ghilane and on towards the deserted fort.
The Grand Erg Oriental near Ksar Ghilane truly offers vast spaces for exploring and the emotion of tasting the nomad life. Free time to marvel at giant dunes hundreds of feet tall.

Day 11 :
Ksours


After breakfast, departure to Tataouine. Visit the ksours at the berber village of Douiret, Chenini, with its unique houses carved in the steep sides of the surrounding mountains. Visit the Ghorfas buildings in the Ksours originally used by the Berbers as warehouses, then as lodgings: the area around Chenini and Tataouine is filled with Berber ksars, or fortified villages, and is one of the most exciting places to explore in Tunisia.

Continue to Ksar Haddada, the set where was filmed the movie Star Wars, Beni Kedache, Tamezret and Matmata to visit its famous troglodytes, homes built into the mountain. This fabulous Berber village with its pitted lunar landscapes was used by both Lucas and Spielberg in the production of Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Arc.
Leave for Gabes and take the ferry to Djerba, the mythical land of the Lotus eaters in Homer’s Odyssey.

Day 12: Island of Djerba


After breakfast, visit the Ghriba synagogue, built in the 6th century BC
(fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians), one of the holiest Jewish places
that hosts annual pilgrimage of Jews from all over the world and holds
one of the most ancient Torah's in the world.

Continue to Houmt Souk, the island's capital, for a chance to experience local markets, crafts and foods, the museum of arts and popular traditions in Sidi Zitouni and the village of Guellala reputated for its potteries.

Lunch at chez Haroun where you will enjoy excellent fish prepared Tunisian style (fresh catch of the day)
Free afternoon: suggestions include going back to the hotel for relaxation and possible thalassotherapy.

Day 13: Tunis

Fly to Tunis in the morning.
Check in hotel Residence Coasts of Carthage 5*.


Free Morning (suggestions include visiting the Artisanat,
the central market and the souks).

Free lunch.

Free Afternoon (suggestions include visiting galleries of art or music in Sidi Bou Said: Dar Annabi (This traditional Sidi Bou Said house has been converted into a museum, where you can wander around the palatial rooms and courtyards) and Dar el Baron in Sidi Bou Said (referring to the "Palais du Baron d'Erlanger", once a millionaire’s sumptuous retreat and now home to a fascinating Tunisian music museum) or simply try a bambalouni, light and crispy Tunisian style doughnut with some mint tea in one of the cafes of Sidi Bou Said and enjoy the superb view of the gulf of Tunis from one of Sidi Bou’s traditional café .

Dine in high style at a converted Ottoman palace in the medina, Dar El Jeld. Dinner will include a selection of mouth-watering delicacies, accompanied by harp player and authentic Moorish music.
